Oleksandr Oles's Chary Nochi — "The Enchantment of the Night" — is the tender heart of Ukrainian romantic verse, and Ukraine has been singing it for more than a century. A spring night, nightingales in the orchard, and a lover's argument against wasting any of it: kiss her, kiss her, youth will not come again. Oles left Ukraine in 1919 and died in exile in Prague, and the poem has long outlived the country he lost.

The design: a nightingale against a full gold moon, printed across the chest. The stanza and its English translation print on the back, Ukrainian beside English.
