Oleksandr Konysky wrote Prayer for Ukraine in 1885; Mykola Lysenko set it to music. It is sung at the close of Ukrainian church services as a prayer over the nation. The full poem prints on the back.

The design: an art-nouveau emblem of golden wheat on deep azure — Ukraine's blue and gold — with the opening bar of Lysenko's melody hand-set as gilded notation, and the hymn's first line in Ukrainian and English. The full prayer prints on the back, the Ukrainian beside an English translation. A rich, gilded blue-and-gold piece, at its best on the darker garment colours.
