The Rime of the Ancient Mariner Tee — Coleridge | Palimpsest
"Water, water, every where, / Nor any drop to drink."
Samuel Taylor Coleridge's The Rime of the Ancient Mariner (1798) — the ghostly ballad of the sailor who shoots the albatross and pays for it across a becalmed, cursed sea. Two centuries on, still the greatest of the sea-poems.
The design: an albatross above a lone ship on the chest, with the poem's famous lines — and on the back, Coleridge's opening stanza together with the "Water, water, every where" stanza. Printed on dark shirts so the linework glows.
